, reports are also pointing to an announcement tonight of a fresh sequel to Bizarre Creation’s seminal 2D shooter Geometry Wars.

Joystiq claims to have word from a ‘reliable source’ that the game is on the way – which isn’t a massive shock considering the supposed leak of Achievement details at the end of June.

The site even claims that the game could arrive on Xbox Live in conjunction with Microsoft’s press conference at 18:30 tonight.

A quick browse through the Achievement lists hints at possible new game features. Geoms, a form of in-game collectible first seen in the Kuju DS and Wii release Geometry Wars Galaxies, are mentioned, as are Waves – a game mechanic introduced to the series in Geometry Wars Waves, a title available only to owners of Project Gotham Racing 4.

The list also mentions the likes of Gates, Zones and Sequences, and also game modes called Deadline and Pacifism.
