Sony’s new
PS3 and PSP movie and TV download and rental service
was possibly the biggest announcement of the
platform holder’s E3 conference
, but European console owners will seemingly have to wait until next year to get access to the now-live-in-the-US content delivery system.
David Reeves confirmed the news at SCEE’s Santa Monica gathering last night. He did assert, however, that Sony boss Howard Stringer has committed to launching the service in all territories in the fullness of time.
Sourcing local content and striking deals with content providers across all of Europe’s territories is a very time consuming affair – so be prepared for a wait on this one. Still, at least there won’t be a wait for Home.
There’s also the fact, as Reeves pointed out, we have access to the Go! View service in the UK.
