Its announcement follows a hugely impressive demo for the PS3 title, Resistance 2, that wowed the E3 audience earlier in the presentation.
In a presentation that put unexpected weight on Sony's capable machine, the firm's Jack Tretton said of the handheld: "We've always said PSP was key to Sony owning the living room."
Other PSN titles on show included 2D shooters Crash Commando and Fat Princess and a new Ragdoll Kung Fu title dubbed Fists of Plastic. There was also a new title from the team behind flOw, named flOwer as well as the next title in the PixelJunk series, namely Eden.
No release date for any of the titles has yet been announced.
