E3 2007: Activision shows off Call of Duty 4

Activision’s star studded presentation (which featured comedian Jamie Kennedy, skateboarder Tony Hawk, comic book legend Stan Lee, and Guns n’ Roses’ Slash) was spearheaded by a preview of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Developer Infinity Ward said that it intended to outdo the top FPS franchises with the title, claiming; “this isn’t your daddy’s Call of Duty.”

The game demo received whoops and hollers from the gathered crowds, as a nuclear explosion followed by crashing helicopters and a chaotic swirl of debris showed what the engine could do.

Activision also showed off Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, in which it claimed musicians were approaching the developers to get their songs in the game.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was also showcased, as was Bee Movie and Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, while Tony Hawk himself gave a small speech on Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground.
