The news comes after journalists were wowed by an impressive hands-on with an early build of the game, which ditches CoD’s traditional WWII setting in favour of a modern theme.
“We're making a more sophisticated, deeper Call of Duty experience,” developer Infinity Ward stated in its presentation.
No date has been given for the beta as of yet, but with the game due out on 360, PS3 and PC before the end of the year, it should be soon.
