E3 2010: THQ jumps on Kinect fitness bandwagon

Kinect Sports, Your Shape, Mel B’s Get Fit, Dance Central, EA Sports Active… and now The Biggest Loser.

THQ has unveiled the sixth 360/Kinect active movement and fitness game of the day, a version of its Biggest Loser games for the new device.

The game is a spin-off of the global franchise of the same name which has already spawned Wii titles.

In all its forms, The Biggest Loser aims to encourage overweight people towards dramatic weight loss.

"When Kinect for Xbox 360 was first unveiled, we recognized the unique opportunity it presented for us to bring an entirely new level of activity and unprecedented way of gaming to players," said Martin Good, EVP of THQ’s Kids, Family, Casual Games, and Global Online Services.

"The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout will fully leverage Kinect for Xbox 360s technology with elements that will immerse players into the gameplay experience, while introducing a fun, new approach to health and fitness video games."

The release date of the game in the US – and a confirmed roll-out for Europe – have not yet been confirmed.
