E3 2014 ramps up mobile games pavilion

E3 organisers ESA says it is dramatically increasing the size of its mobile and social games pavilion at this year’s show.

The firm’s senior vice president Rich Taylor told MCV that the area will be moved from the outskirts of the show and into the main halls, putting it alongside the biggest blockbuster titles.

We’re bringing back the mobile social games pavilion because that’s such a strong sector in our industry that didn’t exist in the not too distant past,” Taylor explained.

Last year was the first time we featured titles on that platform, and the area dedicated to it will be both larger and actually on the show floor itself. This year it will be with the other amazing titles and hardware and it’ll be showcasing the latest titles for mobile and handheld devices.

You are going to see a lot of the leading mobile and casual companies very visible and participating strongly, folks like Facebook. So among the new things will be a broadening of stuff in that space.”
