EA brings out the Cash to launch Grand Slam Tennis 2

Pat Cash was the guest of honour at a press event to launch Grand Slam Tennis 2 in Waterloo yesterday.

EA decked out a small warehouse venue with five consoles (one being projected onto a wall and the othes as IDUs with two move-capable consoles in the mix as well), an astroturf tennis green and a decadent buffet and champagne to boot.

A tournament was held amongst press in attendance, with Grant Shepherd from Tech Trader Magazine winning out overall, beating the celebrity drawcard of Aussie tennis champion Pat Cash on the big screen. Cash is a playable 'Legend' character in the game itself, and also provides the commentary along with John McEnroe.

The event was modest in scale, but was a great environment for letting press enjoy the game in a relaxed fashion for a Wednesday afternoon, with the absolutely brilliant addition of EA Community Coordinator Jess 'Jiggsy' Hodgson (pictured) appearing in drag in a skimpy women's tennis outfit for the viewing pleasure of attendees.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 is available today on PS3 and 360 for AUD$99.95.
