EA Sports pens Manchester City deal

Unimaginably minted Premier League football team Manchester City has signed an agreement with EA Sports that will see the publisher go first with a host of City-related exclusives.

Chiefly, the entire City squad has undergone 360-degree 3D headscan shots with a view to making their representation in the upcoming FIFA 12 unlike anything seen in previous games.

A host of other initiatives are on the way, too. Dedicated Man City content produced by EA will be made available both through the football club itself and through EA Sports channels.

Several gaming areas will also be installed throughout City’s Etihad Stadium.

We are delighted to be entering into a dynamic new partnership with Manchester City,” EA”s football business lead Nick Harford stated.

Through this agreement, EA Sports will invest in the creation of bespoke content and experiences that bring Manchester City fans across the globe closer to the team they love.”

City’s chief brand and commercial officer Ian Cafferky added: EA Sports’ reputation is unparalleled, both within the video game industry and around the world. The fact that a company of EA Sports calibre has joined our stable of valued partners, shows a clear indication of the Club’s growth and appeal to a global audience.

Many of our supporters, not to mention first team players are huge fans of FIFA. The deal with EA Sports was therefore a natural fit and the beginning of what I know will be an exciting partnership.”

FIFA 12 will be released in the UK on September 30th.
