Early Resident Evil 6 sales in Poland sourced from stolen stock

It’s true – Resident Evil 6 WAS on sale this weekend.

Reports emerged online claiming that some Polish consumers were able to get their hands on the game on a store in Polish city Poznan, though many doubted the authenticity seeing as it’s so far ahead of the game’s official release.

And it turns out that it was true, with the early copies coming from a stolen batch of the highly anticipated title.

Capcom is currently undertaking a thorough investigation into reports that Resident Evil 6 is being sold ahead of its official October 2nd release date,” a statement supplied to MCV confirms.

At this time, all we can add is that it would appear this unfortunate incident is limited to a small quantity of stolen copies of the German USK PlayStation 3 version of the game.”

The publisher’s release plans will not be altered, MCV understands.
