EarthBound debuts in Europe on Wii U

After a 19 year wait, European fans will finally get their hands on acclaimed RPG EarthBound.

Nintendo boss Satoru Shibata made the announcement during the firm’s Nintendo Direct Mini presentation earlier today.

Available from today via the Nintendo eShop, the cult SNES RPG makes its debut within Europe on the Wii U Virtual Console.

UK pricing for the title is yet to be confirmed as the game is yet to appear within the European eStore. However, US consumers are able to purchase EarthBound now for $9.99.

Earthbound launched on the SNES in 1994 but European players were left in the cold.

The game will even launch with the full-length strategy guide that accompanied the original game. Players will be able to access the guide both online and by using the Wii U GamePad.

UPDATE: EarthBound has since appeared on Nintendo’s European eStore with a price tag of 6.99.
