eBay steps up ban on 'virtual' auctions

eBay’s Hani Durzy told the website that the web company has been removing offending auctions for just over a month, explaining that the action has been taken because of legal complexities surrounding property rights issues.

However, a spokesperson for eBay told Betanews.com that items from Second Life wouldn’t be affected by the policy, because the company has reconsidered what constitutes a ‘game’.

Last year, Anshe Chung became the first person top use Second Life to become a real world millionaire, after selling off her in-world ‘Linen Dollars’ for real US Dollars.
