EUK swoops for THE

The new move is a huge shot in the arm for music, games and DVD distributor EUK, which will now assume control of a THE account portfolio that includes Sainsbury’s, Music Zone, Somerfield and Fopp. It also marks EUK’s first steps into the primary distribution market.

THE will retain its brand ‘for the foreseeable future’, and both firms will keep their existing infrastructures during the Christmas trading period. MD of EUK Lloyd Wigglesworth will assume ultimate responsibility for both companies, with THE CEO James Browning and finance director Chris Stephenson remaining in their roles until the end of the year.

“EUK and THE are both highly successful and profitable companies in the entertainment distribution market with ambitious plans for expansion and growth,” said EUK MD Lloyd Wigglesworth. “The two businesses are extremely complementary, and by bringing them together we will be able to offer a wider range of services and greater added value to our customers and suppliers.”
