Nintendo DS continues to go from strength to strength – with the Japanese gaming giant reporting that the handheld has now topped one million sales in Europe since launch.
This latest milestone comes after MCV revealed (10/6) that UK sales had broken the 250,000 mark since the system hit retail on March 11th. DS has now achieved cumulative global sales of over five million.
“The European launch of Nintendo DS has been a massive success with sales shattering all previous records in the opening weekend and remaining consistently strong,” commented European marketing boss Jim Merrick.
“European consumers have adopted Nintendo’s sense of fun and innovation to give fantastic support to the Nintendo DS.”
