Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that every single one of its owned studios is working on PS4 software.
A surprise? Perhaps not, but there are implications to the news.
Firstly, it means that gamers can maybe expect less in the way of PS3 and PS Vita titles than they would have done otherwise. It also could mean that Vita titles such as Tearaway, which is in development at LittleBigPlanet dev Media Molecule, might take a little longer to materialise.
Secondly, and more excitingly, it points to some possibly exciting news in the near future. As IGN points out, are we correct to infer that Naughty Dog must therefore be working on Uncharted 4? And Polyphony Digital on Gran Turismo 6?
And what of the likes of Guerrilla Cambridge, Studio London, Sony Santa Monica and Sony San Diego?
Of course, we already have confirmation of three PS4 titles from Sony studios – Killzone: Shadow Fall from Guerrilla Games, DriveClub from Evolution Studio and InFamous: Second Gun from Sucker Punch.
If nothing else we can at least safely conclude one thing – E3 could be very big for Sony.
