In-app payments, near field communication, virtual items and Facebook Credits will be some of the topics at the Monetising Mobile conference in just under
two weeks’ time.
Monetising Mobile: Exploring Opportunities in Mobile Payments is hosted by MCV’s stablemate Mobile Entertainment.
It will take a close look at this topical sector, with execs from Google, Facebook, Visa and more providing expert insights into the market.
There will be plenty to engage the games industry, which has embraced mobile in the app ‘era’. This week, market watcher NPD said mobile now accounts for half of all digital game downloads by volume. And with ideas such as in-app payments, rental and ‘try before you buy’ still in their infancy, there’s new revenue to come.
But there’s more to the mobile channel than just games. Publishers of online titles are starting to offer the phone bill as a payment channel alongside credit cards and PayPal.
And further ahead lies NFC, the contactless tech that lets the phone pay for physical goods.
All subjects will be under discussion at the upcoming Monetising Mobile. Confirmed speakers include:
