FEAR 3 confirmed

Following a couple of weeks of rumours, publisher Warner Interactive has officially confirmed the ongoing development of horror FPS sequel FEAR 3, which is due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this autumn.

Adding to the game’s creepy credentials are famed movie director John Carpenter and comic script writer Steve Niles, both of whom are acting as consultants during its development.

FEAR 3 is being developed by Day 1 Studios in collaboration with Monolith Studios.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is evolving the FEAR brand with top horror, co-op and first person shooter combat in FEAR 3,” Warner Bros Interactive president Martin Tremblay stated.

Monolith Productions has passed the torch to Day 1 Studios to create a quality, powerful game that stays true to the roots of the FEAR franchise but takes players to a heightened level of gameplay.”

Day 1 founder and president Denny Thorley added: After working closely with Monolith, Day 1 is honoured to bring the next iteration of the FEAR franchise to gamers with key elements of the past games yet providing fresh combat and horror experiences in FEAR 3. Players can look forward to new features such as divergent co-op, an evolved cover system, and more scares in FEAR 3.”
