FIFA 10 breaks sales records

FIFA 10 has shattered records and become the fastest selling sports game ever.

The game sold 1.7 million copies across Europe since launching last week, also making the biggest European launch in Electronic Arts’ history.

The game’s online features have proven to be particularly popular. More than 10 million gaming sessions have been played online since launch, with over 155,000 gamers playing online simultaneously during peak playing hours.

FIFA 10 has also performed well critically, receiving widespread acclaim. EA reports that it is currently the highest rated sports game ever on both PS3 and Xbox 360, with Metacritic scores of 92 and 91 respectively.
