FIFA 14 predicts German victory at Brazil World Cup

FIFA 14 predicts German victory at Brazil World Cup

Germany will win the 2014 World Cup, if EA's licensed PS3 and Xbox 360 World Cup game is anything to go by.

EA simulated the entire tournament in 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, which saw the Germans topple hosts Brazil 2-1 in extra time in the final.

Even more astonishingly, the game reckons England won't crash out in the group stages and will actually lose out to Spain in the quarter-finals. Don't put too much stock in that, though – it also said the Three Lions would WIN a penalty shootout against Columbia in the Round of 16.

Were Germany to prevail it would mark the team's fourth World Cup triumph and make it the first to win the tournament in South America. EA also points out that it accurately predicted Spain's triumph in 2010 – although it reckons the reigning champs will crash out on penalties to Germany in the semis this year.

Brazil's Neymar claimed the Golden Boot with six goals.

Personally we're looking forward to Portugal's 4-3 victory over Nigeria in the quarters which sounds like a cracker.

Here are the simulated results:

Final
Brazil 1 - 2 Germany (ET)

3rd Place Game
Portugal 1 - 3 Spain

Semi Finals
Brazil 1 - 0 Portugal
Spain 0 - 0 Germany (Germany 5-4 pens)

Quarter Finals
Brazil 2 - 2 Uruguay (Brazil 4-3 pens)
Portugal 4 - 3 Nigeria
England 0 - 2 Spain
Germany 2 - 1 Argentina

Round of 16
Brazil 3 - 1 Netherlands
Ivory Coast 2 - 3 Uruguay
France 0 - 1 Nigeria
Portugal 2 - 0 Russia
Spain 3 - 1 Mexico
England 1 - 1 Columbia (England 4-3 pens)
Argentina 2 - 0 Ecuador
Belgium 1 - 2 Germany
