FIFA Street returns

GAMESCOM: EA Sports is bringing its stylish football series back with a brand new game out early next year, boasting Football Club functionality.

The publisher showed off the title at its Gamescom press conference in Cologne this afternoon. The game will be produced by the EA Sports’ football development team in Vancouver.

FIFA Street will be compatible with EA Sports Football Club – the publisher’s new online social service that allows users to manage teams, create and download content, track leaderboards and more.

It will also feature EA Sports Season Ticket functionality. This recently announced service lets players download and play games for a limited time three days ahead of their retail release.

EA Sports creative director Gary Paterson said: Earlier this year we got some of the world’s top streets football players to work on motion capture for us.

The game will include authentic skill moves, over 35 environments and some of the biggest football stars.”

EA Sports exec VP Andrew Wilson added: FIFA Street Will be the most authentic street football game ever created. It will be deep, accessible and fun to play.”

The original FIFA Street was released in 2005 on Xbox, PS3 and Gamecube. It was later followed by two other versions including FIFA Street 3 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
