A popular FIFA YouTuber could become the first big streaming star to face prosecution for promoting gambling on his channel.
The BBC reports that NepentheZ, whose real name is Craig Douglas, promoted the gambling of FIFA coins via a site called FUTgalaxy. The Gambling Commission has raised a legal case as a result, believing that his actions amounted to promoting gambling to children.
Both Douglas and FUT galaxy owner Dylan Rigby have appeared at the Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, with the case adjourned October 14th.
Douglas has previously been challenged on the subject on Twitter, but brushed off the concerns – all evidence of which has since been deleted.
The news follows the very high profile Counter Strike gambling controversy that embroiled the eSports campaign in the summer.
