Square Enix’s latest Final Fantasy remaster has gone straight in at No.1 in the UK weekly charts, finally dethroning Activision’s Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is Square Enix’s first No.1 since Deus Ex: Mankind Divided topped the UK charts last summer, and together with renewed sales from Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which rose 440 per cent last week, they pushed Crash Bandicoot down to No.3 this week, ending its two week reign at the top.
Elsewhere in the chart, a run of discounts helped Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft: Xbox Edition and Wipeout Omega Collection to push back into the Top Ten, claiming No.6-8 respectively with rises of 157 per cent, 289 per cent and 281 per cent week-on-week respectively.
Injustice 2 also rose ten places to scrape into the No.10 after a sales boost of 95 per cent week-on-week, despite remaining at full price. Indeed, with so many titles shaking up the charts this week, FIFA 17 was actually pushed out of the Top Ten, falling to No.12 after a 38 per cent drop in sales.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1-5+2.5 Remix also re-entered the charts at No.29 after sales rose by 480 per cent week-on-week, as did PlayStation VR Worlds at No.34 after a jump of 172 per cent. Otherwise, no other new release last week made it into the Top 40.
