An impressive line-up of games is set to arrive either on or near launch of the PlayStation 3 when the console hits stores in 2006.
Guerrilla’s Killzone sequel leads the pack, along with familiar franchises including Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4, a third instalment of The Getaway series, a new Tekken title from Namco, Metal Gear Solid 4 courtesy of Konami and a brand new GT title, dubbed Vision Gran Turismo.
Electronic Arts will be updating its boxing series with Fight Night Round 3, while a new Formula 1 game from Sony’s Liverpool studio is in the works. Bandai will release a continuation of its Mobile Suit Gundam franchise and a brand new Final Fantasy game is underway at Square Enix.
A refreshing list of new IP for the PlayStation 3 includes Eyedentify by SCEJ, Sega’s first-person shooter Fifth Phantom Saga and Heavenly Sword by Ninja Theory. WWII themed sci-fi shooter I-8 is in development at Insomniac, While Ubisoft will contribute Killing Day. Other titles due next spring include Warhawk by Incognito, Ni-Oh from Koei and Evolution Studios’ MotorStorm.
