Dutch publisher Foreign Media Games has survived the collapse of its parent – and has re-emerged as Easy Interactive.
Last month Foreign Media called in administrators after a finance crisis.
As it was independently run and profitable, the games division’s management team were able to secure a quick sale and transfer FMG ownership to private equity group Triacta.
The group will now revert to the name Easy Interactive, which was the division’s original name before it was acquired by Foreign Media back in 2006.
Easy Interactive plans to build on almost a decade of work in games which saw it become one of the top publishers in Benelux. The firm expanded to the UK earlier this year with a number of mass market Wii, DS and PC games.
After spending four years as part of a larger group it feels natural to return to our independent games publisher origins,” said Easy Interactive’s MD Michel van Elmpt. Our team is exactly the same, other than one personnel addition, and we’re looking forward to delivering against our substantial Q4 2010 and 2011 line-ups.”
