GAME and TweetDeck vets join Green Man Gaming

Green Man Gaming has appointed respected industry figures to its senior management team.

The new recruits come as the UK-based digital retailer begins to expand across Europe.

The firm has signed former Metaboli and GAME exec Paul Howes as commercial director. Howes has held senior roles at Mindscape and Infogrames before joining digital specialist Metaboli as regional business director. He then moved to GAME, where he was responsible for developing the firm’s digital strategy and revenues.

Meanwhile, Robert Kinder has joined the company as head of trade marketing and e-commerce. Kinder was previously online marketing manager at Codemasters and will now oversee merchandising, marketing and social media.

Elsewhere, Callum Jay is the specialist’s new chief financial officer. Callum joins from cloud-based digital video distributor Miniweb Interactive where he was finance director. He is a veteran from the games market, having worked as head of business development at Eidos.

Finally, Lee Packham has returned to GMG as technical director. Packham worked with MD Paul Sulyok to develop the Green Man Gaming platform when it launched. He comes back to the firm following a year-long stint developing TweetDeck for Twitter.

“With significant growth in 2011 and ambitious plans to develop and expand our business internationally throughout 2012, I’m delighted to have shaped a senior management structure with four incredibly experienced professionals to help strengthen key areas of our business,” Sulyok said.

“We start the new year in a tremendous position. We’re Europe’s fastest-growing independent digital retailer and have partners in 11 territories, selling over 900 titles from leading publishers.  With Paul, Callum, Lee and Robert joining our hard working team, we are going to take Green Man Gaming to the next level.”
