UK retailer GAME has rubbished speculation that it has fallen out with publisher Activision.
Talk of a rift was rife over the weekend following multiple reports of various GAME and Gamestation outlets either not carrying stock of new racer Blur or only stocking the title in limited quantities.
“We have bought the stock we feel is appropriate to meet our customers demand for Blur and are working closely with Activision discussing all of their up-coming titles for the rest of this year,” a spokesperson for the retailer told MCV.
Blur enjoyed a somewhat underwhelming debut in the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 this week, managing just 14th place. Sales were well below what many had anticipated and fell well short of recent racing rival Split/Second from Disney.
Blur was also beset with a number of technical problems over its opening weekend that saw many PS3 owners unable to take the title online or suffering crashes once they managed to do so.
The rumours follow the recent spat between Take Two and Asda that resulted in the retailer choosing not to stock current number one Red Dead Redemption in its UK stores over its opening weekend.
