GAME embraces film with biggest ever DVD range

GAME will be launching its biggest range of Blu-rays and DVDs in-store and online from Monday May 13th.

The range features more than 50 titles, spanning new releases like Argo and The Life of Pi to more established popular fare like Kill Bill and Avatar.

The move follows successful in-store trials last year with Skyfall and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The launch continues the retailer’s strategy to cater to the interests of players outside of video games.

Gaming and movies go together hand-in-hand – you only need to look at the cinematic effects found in many games, along with how many games are based on films and vice versa, to understand how closely the two are related,” said Charlotte Knight, Category Director for Game Retail Ltd.

Introducing this range of movies is another big step towards delivering for every aspect of a gamer’s lifestyle. We’ve already had very encouraging performances on The Hobbit and Skyfall, and we’re confident that the time is right to extend our range. We’re really excited that our customers will be able to get their hands on their favourite movies both in-store and online.”
