Game Expo Scotland to team with Versus Scotland for eSports zones

Game Expo Scotland has partnered with Scottish fighting game organisation Versus Scotland to bring three eSports zones to the two-day event.

Game Expo Scotland 2014, which will take place on October 4th and 5th, will feature competitions in Mario Kart 8, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and the indie fighting game Gang Beasts.

The event will feature three distinct eSports zones:

The Fun Zone will allow attendees to play a selection of current and retro games, including a Mario Kart 8 session played on the big screen.

In the Casual Zone, players can challenge friends and rivals at a range of fighting games, including Capcom’s Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Namco Bandai’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and indie drunken brawler Gang Beasts.

Those who opt to visit the Ultra Zone on Saturday will have the opportunity to meet Tom Piddock, creator of fighting game training tool Frame Trapped, as he provides interactive tutorials and guides on a range of titles, including Ultra Street Fighter IV.

The Ultra Zone will also contain exhibition matches from professional fighting game players, including high-ranking Scottish players Milligano, Bigfool, Breslin and Faker.

Those who visit the Ultra Zone on Sunday will be able to compete in an official Capcom Pro Tour ranking tournament, with the winner awarded with seeding points to the global Capcom Pro Tour.
