Gameloft sees positive second quarter and first half results

Casual games studio Gameloft has reported positive financial results for its second quarter and first half of 2015.

The French company posted a year-on-year sales increase of 15 per cent for the first half of its fiscal year, reaching €127.4m. North America accounted for 24 per cent of sales, while EMEA countries brought in 30 per cent of the total.

Q2 2015 sales made up €61.9m of that total – up 12 per cent compared to the same period last year. Monthly active users averaged out to 163m during the past quarter, with 19m daily active users on average.

"Strong game service sales combined with the launch of nine new games have allowed Gameloft’s revenues to grow by 15 per cent in the first six months of 2015,” CEO Michel Guillemot said. The advances made by the company in terms of monetization are progressively paying off.”

"We will strive to stay the course in the coming quarters by delivering high-quality and successful mobile games on a regular basis and by continuing to expand our existing games services."

According to the report, the studio plans to release between eight and ten new titles by the end of the year.

"Gameloft has a massive audience, strong brands, solid recurring revenues, growth opportunities ahead and a healthy financial situation,” Guillemot added. We therefore continue to look to the future with confidence.”
