The US GamePro print edition is being discontinued and the web site is being folded into the content for the still-thriving PC World.
The move was announced via the GamePro web site with a small note on the top of the page thanking its readers for all their support over the decades of its existence.
While this is a big move for the US site, it isn't going to change anything with the Australian staff, for whom an identical move occurred already and resulting in the loss of Chris Jager as editor amongst others.
The full note from the web site reads: "Thank you for your loyalty, support, and participation in the GamePro.com community. At noon on December 5, 2011, the U.S. version of GamePro online will shut down as an independent site. GamePro will become part of PCWorld.com (http://www.pcworld.com/gamepro) offering gaming news, reviews, and how-tos from the PCWorld team."
