GamesAid Euro 2012 football quiz kicks off

With England about to embark on its Euro 2012 ‘adventure’ in just a few short hours, games charity GamesAid has kicked off its own Euro 2012 competition.

All you need to do to take part is donate 10 at GamesAid’s JustGiving page and then email your answers to the questions below to david.walker@live.co.uk.

And as an added sweetener, the first 200 respondents will get a code to download PC hit Football Manager 2012 for free. Sega has also offered a load of free swag that will be handed out to the best tipsters.

The questions are as follows:

Question 1. Who will win Euro 2012?

SCORE: 10 points for the correct answer.

Question 2. How will England fare?

Answer A. Knocked out in the Group Stages
Answer B. Knocked out in the Quarter Finals
Answer C. Knocked out in the Semi Finals
Answer D. Runners Up
Answer E. Winners

SCORE: 10 points for the correct answer. To honour your blind faith, a bonus of 1 point will be added to your score if you select option E, regardless of whether or not it is correct.

Question 3. How will Ireland fare?

Answer A. Knocked out in the Group Stages
Answer B. Knocked out in the Quarter Finals
Answer C. Knocked out in the Semi Finals

SCORE: 10 points for the correct answer. If you can prove that you are Irish, or have a dim and distant Irish relative, or own a green parrot, or drink Guinness, a bonus of 1 point will be added to your score if you select option E, regardless of whether or not it is correct. Proof of your Irishness claim will have to be provided with your entry.

HINT: There will be 31 matches played at Euro 2012. At the finals of Euro 2008, 77 goals were scored in 31 games.

Question 8. Which player will win the Golden Boot award? (The player that scores the most goals throughout the tournament)

SCORE: 10 points for the correct answer.

Question 9. In total, how many red and yellow cards will be shown throughout the finals of Euro 2012?

HINT: There will be 31 matches played at Euro 2012. At the finals of Euro 2008, 125 cards were shown in 31 games.

Question 10. During the TV coverage of the Final, what colour shirt will the lead presenter on the BBC be wearing?

CLUE: This is likely to be Gary Lineker.

RULE: The predominant colour will be deemed to be correct. If the shirt is a ridiculous multi coloured affair, then Answer E would be correct. The judge’s decision on this answer will be final, no correspondence will be entered into.
