Gamescom signs partnership with GMAs

German trade show Gamescom has become an official Event Partner of this year’s Games Media Awards, as it continues to strengthen ties with the UK press.

The Cologne expo has become a key date in the global gaming calendar and this year’s show was the biggest and most successful so far.

Franko Fischer, Gamescom’s press, communications and PR officer, told MCV: “The British games media are always very welcome and important guests at Gamescom ­– and we were delighted to welcome more of them to this year’s event than we did to the premiere last year.

“We’re keen to extend our mutually beneficial relationship beyond one week in Cologne and are therefore very happy to be part of UK’s big games media night in London, celebrating their achievements and contribution to the industry.”

The GMAs takes place at the Bloomsbury Ballroom on Thursday, October 14th. As ever, it will reward the very best writers, mags, brands and websites covering games.
