GameSpot announces 2007’s Most Wanted

Compiled by GameSpot’s editorial team, the list highlights the 14 titles that the website believes will have the biggest impact this year.

Whilst Microsoft’s 360 boasts three exclusive titles (Crackdown, Mass Effect and Forza 2) and Nintendo’s Wii two (Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros), Sony’s PS3 line-up has failed to capture GameSpot’s imagination, with only three multiformat entries (Burnout 5, BioShock and Half-Llfe 2) making the shortlist. Global favourite PS2, meanwhile, has two exclusives on the list.

Nintendo DS outdoes Sony’s handheld thanks to the nomination of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The PSP receives no mention in GameSpot’s picks.

“With the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 now on the market and with Windows Vista gaming on the PC coming into its own, game developers are working with new technologies to stretch the boundaries of video games graphics, storylines and capabilities,” GameSpot site director Josh Larson stated.

“The 2007 list of most highly anticipated games was created to help gamers weed through the staggering number that will be released this year and remind them of a few games on the horizon that will be worth the wait.”

The list, in alphabetical order, is as follows:

BioShock (2K Games) 360, PS3, PC
