GamesRadar names new UK editor

Matt Cundy has been promoted to UK editor of GamesRadar.

Future Publishing announced that Cundy has left his position as acting editor and replaces George Walter.

Cundy has 15 years of experience in the games industry and has headed up a number of magazines, including Pokemon Masters and The Simpsons Comic.

He joined Future in 2002 and was instrumental in the 2005 relaunch of GamesRadar, helping to establish and develop its reputation as a leading entertainment site.

In his new role, he will work alongside the US GamesRadar team to further grow the site’s influence and loyal readership.

The team in the UK is unbelievably talented and already creates the kind of innovative, engaging and entertaining articles that resonate with an audience which is passionate about games and gaming culture,” said Cundy.

It’ll be my job to expand the reach of GamesRadar UK’s creative output. I’ll be exploring new areas of original content that further highlights the team’s personality, and helps grow our already healthy community even further.”

GamesRadar’s associate publisher Mark Cantwell added: GamesRadar has always been more than a simple previews and reviews site: it deals with the lifestyle of gaming and exists to make gaming more fun.

We focus entertaining content that stimulates debate. GamesRadar is where true gamers come to play, and I’m confident that Matt will remain true to that ethos. Matt and his team are part of their audience and so know them better than anyone.”
