Gamestation investigation to cost GAME £4.5m

High street retailer GAME has forecast that it will lose 4.5 million ‘complying’ with the Competition Commission’s inquiry into its acquisition of Gamestation.

The firm revealed the news today in its interim results for the six months ended July 31st, 2007, in which it also reported that it had already lost 600,000 to date as part of the review.

GAME added that it expected to invest a further 3 million in improving the infrastructure of its Gamestation stores, and that total costs for the full integration would stand at 5 million.

A verdict in the Competition Commission inquiry is expected at the end of January, 2008.
