Fat Chris is back too and will deliver our key brand differential approach in a fun and unique way. The product that will support the execution makes it easy with such a cracking line-up across all formats on the market.
As ever, the thing that made the conference was just how well supported it was by the publishers; they really thought through their key messages and product showcases this year. A massive thank you to them all. Gamesfest does exactly what it says on the tin – it delivers a festival of games, fun and excitement. It also celebrates the success of this down-to-earth, ambitious games retailer that continues to put customers first and protagonists last.
We will be opening a dozen or so stores pre-Christmas and this will include Hull, which will be our second largest store and the second largest games store in the UK. The others are a mix of locations and we would rather stay tight-lipped on these until the week before their opening.
Hull will take a lot of the learnings from our Birmingham store – the largest games store in the country. We have some really exciting plans and will be revealing them at a party the night before the store opens. Suffice to say, the store will be managed and run by a core team that has been with Gamestation for some years and a team that has been rightly badgering us for a showcase store.
The team, led by Marcos Dinsdale, will deliver the best games experience in the UK - now there’s a challenge for Birmingham store! It will be focused on our brand and we will be the only authentic games retailer that will satisfy all the needs of a gamers lifestyle. A grand statement and one we are going to fulfil in Hull.
