GameStop confirms Steam Wallet for stores

As first rumoured last week, retailer GameStop has announced that Steam Wallet vouchers are now available in all of its US stores.

Customers will be able to buy $20 and $50 codes which will credit the cash to their Steam Wallet account. For the first time this will allow gamers to trade-in physical games and spend their value on Steam.

We are thrilled to be partnering with Valve on this new initiative,” GameStop’s GM of digital distribution Steve Nix stated.

This gives even more options to customers now that they can put money in their Steam Wallet using cash, gift cards or trade credits through our convenient neighbourhood locations.”

Valve’s director of business development Jason Holtman added: "GameStopis the most recognised game retailer in the world and a leader in providing a state-of-the-art shopping experience for its customers.

"Offering Steam Wallet codes atGameStopextends more options and convenience to gamers around to the world."

Steam currently has over 40m registered users and has a library of over 1,800 titles.
