17,000 additional workers will be hired by GameStop in the US for work over the Christmas period.
The games retailer is currently on the hunt for in-store game advisors, consumer electronic technicians for its refurbishment operation centre and warehouse personnel to work at the company’s two distribution centres.
The majority of these roles are part-time and many support flexible work hours. Plus, all who land a job will get a 15 per cent in-store discount on ‘select’ products
“Providing our customers a great experience is of paramount importance when it comes to defining who GameStop is as a retailer and delivering the total value we offer our customers,” senior VP of HR Mike Buskey stated.
“The holiday season is our busiest time of the year, accounting for approximately 40 per cent of our annual revenue. As we near the 2013 holiday season, and the upcoming launches of the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, it is critical that we attract and retain high quality-talent both in our stores as well as in our consumer electronics refurbishment and distribution centres.”
