As had been previously confirmed, Epic Games’ design director Cliff Bleszinski’s appearance on US TV show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was used to offer the world the first glimpse of Gears of War 3.
Furthermore, Microsoft has subsequently given the game a firm release date of April 8th 2011.
“When we released Gears of War more than three years ago, we set out to tell the world an unforgettable story of bravery and sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds,” Bleszinski said in a statement.
“This is definitely the biggest and most dramatic chapter yet in the Gears of War saga, and we can’t wait to deliver it.”
Microsoft has also confirmed that a range of Gears of War avatar items will hit Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace on April 20th.
Epic has also recently lifted the lid on another upcoming game from the studio, Bulletstorm, which is being co-developed with Painkiller studio People Can Fly.
