GME show takes shape

Preparations for UK trade event Games Market Europe today shifted up a gear with the official launch of a dedicated website and opening of online registration.

And with 11 weeks to go until the conference kicks off at London’s Business Design Centre, Islington, the organisers are reporting strong interest and a solid flow of bookings.

“Currently about 28 per cent of the show is booked, with a further 20 per cent optioned,” event director Andy Lane told MCV. “I’m really happy with the way it’s going and the response we’ve had.”

Revealing that the soft launch of the website, which carried only a holding page and email address, had attracted in just a week over 800 registration enquiries, he added: “To have 800 so far is great. And about a quarter of them are from outside the UK, so it’s obviously getting attention from further afield, which is the main aim of it.”

“It’s all going according to plan. The ads start today, and our direct mail campaign hits in a couple of weeks, so it’s keeping the momentum up. The reaction to it has been brilliant.”

Games Market Europe runs from August 31st to September 1st in London.
