Good Game wraps to healthy numbers for 2011

As the Good Game team prepare for their one hour Christmas special to air tonight, they're also celebrating another very strong year.

Mark Scott from the ABC confirmed via Twitter that Good Game received 322'000 downloads in the month of October and 2.8 million in total for the year so far.

Interestingly, the online figures are very close to the traditional broadcast views, with approximate monthly views for the year coming in at over 440'000 from TV at home compared to 400'000 stremed from the official web site and 55'000 from the ever-expanding ABC iView service. The show's Facebook page to date (since it launched in April 2009) has managed over 25 million views thus far.

Companion show Good Game: Spawn Point has been no slouch either, with 80'000 households viewing the program every Saturday each weekend and over 1700 emails sent in to the show each week.

Janet Carr, series producer of both shows, told MCV: "Team Good Game is absolutely delighted that the show(s) have been watched by so many people this year, it’s a reflection of how gaming is enjoyed by so many Australians."

"I’m thrilled to say that the ABC will continue its support for Good Game and Spawn Point in 2012  when the team shall return to produce another 85 episodes."

The Good Game Christmas special episode airs tonight at 8:30pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on ABC2.
