Green Man Gaming is now taking Bitcoin payments

Bitcoin can now be used to buy games from online retailer Green Man Gaming.

The company says that the decision was taken after 89 per cent of respondents in a recent buyer survey expressed a desire for it. For the time being it is restricted to customers who pay is US dollars.

Having recently launched local currency payment options such as Alipay, and Union Pay in China, as well as Yandex, Webmoney, and Qiwi in Russia, Green Man Gaming is now offering Bitcoin to customers who currently pay in USD, with more currencies coming very soon, as part of its long-term commitment to roll out a variety of safe payment options,” GMG said.

Bitcoin will be accepted for any purchase and used in conjunction with discount vouchers and GMG credit, although Bitcoin purchases cannot be refunded.

In October High Street retailer CEX began offering Bitcoin payments in a number of its stores.
