GTA V makes $1bn in three days

Grand Theft Auto V has made $1bn in three days.

That’s faster than any other entertainment product in history, including movies.

It is 12 days faster than Call of Duty: Black Ops II (which was released on more consoles) and 16 days faster than the Avengers movie.

GTA V has smashed UK day one records, shifting 1.57m units in 24 hours. It generated $800m in a day worldwide. These are astonishing numbers that the games industry just hasn’t seen before.
