GTA V retakes No.1 spot; Far Cry 4 claims No.2

The PS4 and Xbox One release of Grand Theft Auto V has seen Rockstar’s game recapture the UK No.1 crown.

The game already claimed the crown of being the single biggest grossing title following its 2013 debut and now also becomes the highest grossing ever game in the UK, beating Call of Duty: Black Ops – a game whose unit sales it has also now surpassed.

Ubisoft’s mutliformat shooter Far Cry 4 enters the UKIE GfK Top 40 in second place, enjoying by far the most successful” first week of any game in the series – although it helps that it’s also the first to launch on a Tuesday.

This week’s other big new release Dragon Age: Inquisition debuts at No.5, selling almost exactly the same number of units as its predecessor.

The next-gen release of WWE 2K15 sees the wrestling title climb 13 places to seventh while the last-gen release of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor helps Warner’s game jump 12 places to No.11.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue and PES 2015 both fall out of the Top Ten.

Sonic Boom failed to make an impact on the Top 40, ranking just third in the Wii U charts and tenth in the 3DS charts.

Here’s the Top 10 in full for the week ending November 22nd:
1. Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
2. Far Cry 4 (Ubisoft)
3. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Activision)
4. FIFA 15 (EA)
