Fruit Ninja, the highly successful iOS game from Brisbane developers Halfbrick, is out today for Kinect, and is the first ever downloadable Kinect title.
Phil Larsen, chief marketing officer at Halfbrick, told MCV: "We want to make sure that Fruit Ninja games are simple, fun to play and have intuitive control. Not every platform will be conducive to this, but both Halfbrick and Microsoft were definitely thinking along the same lines and the project was born within minutes during a meeting!"
Fruit Ninja Kinect sees players chopping assorted fruits as they fly across the screen - a concept which fits very easily into Kinect's control scheme.
Larsen continues: "We have a good relationship with Microsoft as we have experience with XBLA after releasing Raskulls last year. It was a smooth process to get approval for Fruit Ninja Kinect as the idea worked so well, and our goals were to get Kinect as responsive and satisfying as we possibly could."
