Halo 3: ODST heads consumer E3 interest race

Whilst games such as Final Fantasy XIII, Agent and New Super Mario Bros may have been getting the lion’s share of the column inches post-E3, research claims that Microsoft’s Halo 3: ODST is the E3 title that most gamers are interested in buying.

Research body Nielsen has published what it calls its ‘purchase intent charts’ which relies on stats garnered from gamers in the days immediately after the E3 expo, Gamasutra reports.

Here’s the list in full:

1. Halo ODST – 53 per cent
2. God of War III – 49 per cent
3. Wii Sports Resort – 45 per cent
4. Guitar Hero 5 – 42 per cent
5. Final Fantasy XIII – 37 per cent
6. Madden 2010 – 35 per cent
7. Guitar Hero: Van Halen – 34 per cent
=8. Assassins Creed 2 – 32 per cent
=8. Need for Speed: Shift – 32 per cent
=8. Need for Speed: Nitro – 32 per cent
=8. NCAA Football 10 – 32 per cent
12. Beatles Rock Band – 30 per cent

The likes of Super Mario Bros Wii and Final Fantasy XIV failed to trouble the rankings, whilst it’s fair to say that both Madden 2010 and Guitar Hero: Van Halen are very US-orientated titles.
