A digital board game service is coming to PS4 and Xbox One via a partnership between Hasbro and Ubisoft.

The Hasbro Game Channel will launch with Risk, Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit this autumn.

Ubisoft says that the games “will also be available to download individually” on PS3 and Xbox 360, suggesting that the Hasbro Game Channel platform will be a next-gen only affair.

What hasn’t been detailed is how the service will be offered. Will it be a free app that offers premium DLC to access each title? Or could there even by an EA Access-style subscription model that offers access to everything?

“We have worked closely with Ubisoft on the development of the Hasbro Game Channel which will bring family and friends together for a fun and social gaming experience with their favourite brands,” Hasbro’s senior vice president of digital gaming and corporate development Mark Blecher said.

“The new console games will allow players to connect and play with others, not just in their living rooms, but around the world.”
