Ubisoft has announced its mid-year results and a strong performance has led the company to up its financial targets for 2005-2006.
The company has gained further market share in the last financial period, making it the second most successful independent publisher in the UK, France, Germany, Canada and the US.
Sales for the quarter ending June 30th 2005 came to E43 million, in line with group targets. Subsequently, sales for the first half of 2005-2006 are expected to reach E155 million, a rise of 20 per cent compared to 2004-2005.
The company attributed its success to the strong retail performance of Nintendo DS, on which it was the leading independent publisher in the UK, France, Canada and the US.
It also stated that its 13 development studios are actively looking to expand with further recruitment following 170 new employees joining their studios this year alone, bringing the total headcount to 2,400.
