Online independent games retailer Hitari has added a raft of new services after partnering with Royal Mail and DPD.
It says doing so has allowed it to process orders and dispatch video games to its customers quicker than before.
Parcel delivery firm DPD has been assigned as Hitari’s ‘preferred courier service provider’, which informs consumers of their one-hour delivery window. After an order is made, an email is sent to the customer with the date and hour they can expect their goods to arrive. Buyers can even change this specific delivery date and time.
Hitari has also adopted Royal Mail’s Despatch Express label production tool, which produces address labels with integrated barcodes. This automatically checks post codes against the delivery address to prevent goods being posted to the wrong location.
“The aim of this integration is to streamline our mailing operation and eliminate the manual daily tasks of checking delivery addresses and booking orders with Royal Mail, saving us a lot of time and effort,” said MD Kamal Hitari.
“We’re determined to deliver orders as quickly and as efficiently as possible. That's why we’ve invested the time, effort and resources in completing this full integration in a very short space of time.
"Now our customers can continue enjoying the efficient One Hour Delivery Window service, as they'll no longer have to waste a day waiting at home for their delivery."
Hitari was shortlisted in the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2011. The retailer was established in 2010.
