How to watch the Nintendo Switch Presentation online

There’s now less than 12 hours to go until Nintendo unveils its brand-new Switch console. The worldwide Nintendo Switch Presentation will be taking place at 4am UK time, with Nintendo broadcasting the event live from Tokyo.

For those staying up to watch the stream, you can tune in to all the announcements on Nintendo’s websiteor on Nintendo’s official Twitch channel. The presentation will also be available on YouTube.

Since we already know the basic concept of the Switch, we expect Nintendo will dedicate most of its time to revealing the console’s price, release date and line-up of launch games. Current rumours suggest there will be two versions of the Switch on launch day, with a base version of the console retailing for around 200 and a higher capacity premium model retailing for around 250.

As for potential launch games, there’s been a lot of debate around whether The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be ready in time to make its Switch debut in March. Also launching on Nintendo’s ailing Wii U at some point this year, the most recent reports suggest that while Japan and the US may receive Breath of the Wild as a launch title, European may have to wait another few months while Nintendo finishes the localisation.

Bethesda’s Skyrim is another possible contender, since it was clearly shown in Nintendo’s initial Switch teaser trailer. At the time, the publisher said it couldn’t confirm Skyrim’s place on the Switch launch slate, or indeed whether Skyrim would even receive a Switch release, but we suspect it will be one of the first Switch ports to be announced early tomorrow morning.

Other games featured in the Switch’s reveal trailer include a new Mario game and what look to be ports of both Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon.

It’s also likely thatShovel Knight: Treasure Trove and LEGO City Undercover will feature on the Switch’s launch line-up, as both Yacht Club Games and Warner Bros have confirmed ‘Spring’ Switch releases for their respective titles. With the Switch launching sometime in March, expect these two titles to be among the first wave of launch games.
